Description

XTZ ADIXION represents the most advanced evolution of the Adams XTZ series: a euro-nymphing rod designed to meet the demands of the most technical anglers, especially those highly sensitive to blank response. Lightweight, fast-reacting, and equipped with a completely redesigned handle, it delivers superior line control, instant vibration transmission, and a level of sensitivity that quickly becomes an integral part of the fishing motion.

The handle combines a high-density EVA grip with a hand-woven carbon reel seat, fused into a single structure. This solution eliminates dead spots, increases feedback, and transfers every vibration generated by the blank directly to the angler’s hand. The reduced grip length allows easy contact with the blank using the index finger, while the more rearward hand position shifts the balance point closer to the reel, improving stability and precision during casting and drift control.

The carbon reel seat also acts as a fighting butt and houses the adjustable balancing system developed in collaboration with ZMK. Three independent weights allow precise compensation for reel weight, making the rod perfectly neutral and significantly reducing fatigue. The absence of external threads eliminates any risk of loosening: once the reel is locked in place, no further adjustment is required.

The blank is built from multidirectional Toray carbon using X-Torzion technology, which neutralizes torsional forces and keeps the rod perfectly aligned even under load. This ensures constant control during casting and fish fighting. Reduced resin content results in lower overall weight and a faster, crisper response. The tip section has been further refined to improve the presentation of light nymphs and to reduce the risk of fish coming unhooked, especially smaller specimens, while retaining a powerful butt section capable of handling large fish.

The blank features an unpolished finish, a functional choice that prevents line stickiness in wet conditions and makes mono-wrapping unnecessary. The matte finish provides a clean, understated look and reduces glare on the water.

The rod features a 12+1 guide layout with ultra-light single-foot guides that preserve the natural curve of the blank. The two stripping guides are titanium with SIC inserts for flawless line flow, while the remaining thin-wire stainless steel guides protect fine euro-nymphing lines and mono leaders used in modern nymph fishing.

XTZ ADIXION is supplied with a triangular Cordura-covered rod tube, internally divided into four compartments to protect each section. An aluminum container for the three balancing weights is also included, keeping them organized and always within reach

MATTEO DE FALCO’S NOTES

10’ #1

The 10’ #1 is designed for small streams and extremely delicate presentations. Ideal not only for nymph fishing but also for dry–dropper techniques and all situations where maximum finesse is required.

Weighing just 75 g, it allows long sessions without fatigue.

It performs exceptionally well with a single nymph (from 2.3 mm up to 4 mm) or with two flies (2–3.5 mm).

Although designed for a #1 line, it can handle dry fly or dry–dropper fishing using a tapered leader paired with a euro-nymphing line or a #2 WF floating line.

Thanks to the blank design, the rod offers a perceived reach comparable to a 10’3” (312 cm).

Highly enjoyable with trout up to 50 cm, effective on grayling, and particularly interesting for competitive anglers.

10’ #2

The 10’ #2 is dedicated to small rivers and controlled nymph fishing.

With a weight of 79 g, it guarantees lightness and comfort throughout the day.

Perfect with a single nymph (2.5 to 5.5 mm) or with two flies (from 2.3 mm up to 4 mm).

Although designed for a #2 line, when paired with a #3 WF floating line it becomes a very capable dry fly rod, expanding its use beyond pure nymphing.

The blank design provides an effective reach similar to a 10’3” (312 cm).

Extremely fun with trout of any size, including larger specimens, it represents a solution suitable for any river and all conditions.

10’ 6” #2

The 10’6” #2 is the most versatile model in the range, ideal for waters of any size.

The additional length makes it highly effective on larger rivers while maintaining good dry fly performance, a technique that becomes less intuitive with an 11-foot rod.

Weighing 85 g, it allows long sessions without fatigue.

The rod loads easily with WF #3–#4 floating lines or DT lines, ensuring useful distances and precise presentations.

Perfect with a single nymph (up to 6.4 mm), with two flies (from 2.3 mm up to 5.5 mm), or with small jig streamers when using a mono leader.

Although designed for a #2 line, the refined tip allows the use of very fine leaders, reducing unhooking on small trout or grayling. The powerful butt section, however, provides full control over trout exceeding 60 cm.

An extremely multi-purpose rod: high sensitivity, total control, and power when needed. A true big-fish rod without sacrificing finesse.

11’ #2

The 11’ #2 is designed for large rivers and demanding fish, and is also ideal for competition anglers where euro-nymphing lines are mandatory and leader length is limited.

At 87.8 g, it remains surprisingly manageable even during long sessions.

Thanks to the revised handle and reel seat position, it offers a perceived reach similar to an 11’2” (341 cm), increasing control and precision during long drifts.

The powerful butt section and added leverage make it possible to handle XL trout, absorbing powerful runs and head shakes without compromising presentation delicacy.

A rod designed to face trophy fish while maintaining sensitivity and full control.
